Introduction

EDUSEPSIS is an organization of critical care professionals that aims to reduce mortality from severe sepsis and septic shock by propagating scientific knowledge.  

Severe sepsis and septic shock have a high incidence and mortality.   We investigate the efficacy and safety of new treatments for severe sepsis through clinical research networks, identify aspects of care that can be improved, and provide tools to incorporate the treatments into clinical practice.

Our mottos:
-    Measurement is the first step toward improvement.
-    Improving knowledge improves survival.
-    Act fast, sepsis kills.

EDUSEPSIS projects have improved the knowledge and treatment of sepsis in Spain.
